Good Housekeeping Weekend - New Delhi

With an objective to raise awareness on the significance of lung health among the urban class, ‘Breathefree’ participated in the Good Housekeeping Weekend 2011 organized on 9th and 10th April 2011 in New Delhi. The Good Housekeeping Weekend is one of the recognized events from the India Today Group and on on-ground extension of one of its group magazines – Good Housekeeping. The 4th edition of the annual Good Housekeeping event was a two-day fiesta of beauty, health and food experiences, and offered plenty of gifts to the visitors.
The communication of Breathefree was focused around ‘LUNG POWER’ and free Breatheometer tests were offered to the visitors. The response was overwhelming at the event as Breathefree was one of the stalls with the highest number of footfalls. There were 650 visitors who took the Breatheometer test. Around 80% of people had poor lung reading, out of which there were around 10 previously diagnosed asthmatics. Few patients came back on Day 2 with their spouse and kids for the Breatheometer test.
We would like to thank Chest Physician Dr. Vikram Jaggi who came forward to participate in the panel discussion held during the event. This was well appreciated by the attendees and they actively participated in the Q&A Session.
You could also become a volunteer and help us organize a similar free lung health check-up – ‘Breathefree’ at your residential society. At this camp, members of your family and those in your neighbourhood could test their lung power by blowing into a simple device and also meet a doctor to discuss the lung condition.
