Cold is the common cause that triggers Asthma

12th March 2015

Asthma is a condition that affects the airways of lungs, i.e. the tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs since childhood.

Characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways and extra secretion of mucus, asthma causes coughing and breathing difficulty. Often mothers ignore their childs early symptoms of asthma which mimic seasonal cough and try to treat it with cough syrups and tablets. Recurrent or persistent cough, often accompanied by wheezing, which is like a whistling sound while breathing out, chest congestion and breathlessness are the chief indicators of asthma which require prompt medical attention.
