How to Use a Revolizer: Step-by-Step Guide
Follow these easy steps to correctly use your Revolizer and get the full benefit of your medication.
Preparing the Device:
- Open the Mouthpiece: Hold the Revolizer at its base and pull the mouthpiece open until the two arrows on the device meet.
- Insert the Rotacap: Take a single Rotacap from its bottle and place it in the Rotacap chamber. Make sure the transparent end of the capsule is facing downwards.
- Close the Mouthpiece: Shut the mouthpiece firmly until you hear a "click" sound. This confirms the device is properly closed and ready for inhalation.
Taking Your Dose:
- Breathe out: Sit or stand up straight, keeping your head upright. Breathe out completely, away from the device.
- Inhale deeply: Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your lips tightly around it. Do not bite the mouthpiece. Inhale through your mouth as fast and as deeply as you can. You should hear the Rotacap moving or whirling inside the chamber, which indicates you are inhaling correctly.
- Hold Your Breath: Remove the Revolizer from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds, or for as long as you comfortably can.
- Breathe Out: Exhale normally.
- Check for Remaining Powder: Open the mouthpiece to check if there is any powder left in the Rotacap chamber. If so, repeat steps 4-7 to ensure you get the full dose.
Points to remember
- Rinse Your Mouth: After each use, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to prevent any oral side effects.
- Discard the Empty Capsule: After taking your dose, open the mouthpiece and throw away the empty Rotacap.
- Cleaning the Revolizer: Clean your device at least once a week. Rinse the mouthpiece and Rotacap chamber under clean running water and allow them to air-dry completely.
- Device Replacement: For best results and hygiene, it is recommended to replace your Revolizer every 6 months.
- Storage: Keep the Revolizer in its pouch for better hygiene.
